Derrick Jones Jr. Wins 2020 Slam Dunk Contest
Heat Forward Edges Out Aaron Gordon to Claim Title

Derrick Jones Jr. of the Miami Heat defeated Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic in the championship round to claim the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest. The contest was held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago.
Jones Jr. and Gordon were among the four finalists in the contest, which also included Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls and Andre Drummond of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jones Jr. advanced to the championship round by defeating LaVine, while Gordon defeated Drummond.
In the championship round, Jones Jr. and Gordon both had two perfect scores in the first round. Gordon then received a 47 for his second dunk, while Jones Jr. received a 50. Jones Jr. then received a 48 for his third dunk, while Gordon received a 49. In the final round, Jones Jr. received a 48 for his dunk, while Gordon received a 47.
This is the second time that Jones Jr. has won the Slam Dunk Contest. He also won the contest in 2017.
